Floral Trends of 2018: Our picks!

You are probably thanking the universe for this glorious summer the UK is experiencing right now. A satisfactory temperature that prompts you to spend the afternoon in the garden, with a book in one hand and a glass of Pimms in the other.

Wouldn’t it be better if you dragged that good old summery vibe indoors?

We are a nation filled with artistic imagination, which is why every year we seek to jazz up our indoor and outdoor floral patterns with a variety of colours. Last year, we saw a big demand for ‘Cafe au lait’ & ‘Labyrinth’ Dahlias as well as soft, pink arrangements.

This year, we accentuate the use of pastel and muddy colours for that ‘au naturel’ look and combine that with bronze and faded green ferns and leaves

For most brides this year, the desired look for weddings has been the most subtle of styles, the English Garden. This style has always been a winner when it comes to creating a familiar environment for any event, without taking away the natural ambience that comes with it.

Opt for a selection of roses such as the Madame Alfred Carriere, Buff Beauty, with a ‘dash’ of Clematis Etoile Violette to give a wow factor to your floral arrangement. These pale colours, in contrast with a secondary colour, give the feeling of strolling through English Gardens.

Pale Blush Ranunculae bulbs are in high demand this year. This is the perfect time to incorporate them into your own designs before the weather gets too hot.

Let’s not forget peonies and especially the Hybrid, Athena and Baroness Schroeder. These work great with a subtle dose of Birch and Asparagus fern, or astilbe to bring out their clear, silky paleness.
