What were the biggest highlights of 2017?

We keep moments like the following close to our hearts. We absolutely love working on various events and for different purposes as they give us a chance to explore a variety of design and creation and to take the entire concept to a whole new level.

This year, we had the pleasure of working with the Royal Salute whiskey brand for the launch of the much anticipated polo edition. We installed at a beautiful location in Windsor, therefore we matched the beauty of the surroundings with pale pinks, lilacs and pearl blues. For the “step-up”, celebrities had the chance to be photographed surrounded by bespoke handmade arches, complimented by natural elements such as willow and bark.

Sony’s launch for the highly acclaimed Netflix series “The Crown” was complemented by a plethora of beautiful colours. Held at the St. Ermin’s hotel, the idea was to create a real banquet style scene (fit for a queen!). We dressed 5ft stainless steel candelabras in red and gold with the occasional burnt orange whilst using roses, hydrangeas and clematis. All tables were accompanied by candle light on three levels and in order to give it a more authentic look, we added mixed fruits set in gold bowls with single head flowers spilling over the table. Buckingham Palace would have been very proud.

For the first time ever, we had been given the chance to work with the Natural History Museum – a TBR goal for years. The autumnal theme that NHM had chosen was complemented with yellows, oranges, reds and browns, as well as a lot of roses and winter hydrangeas.

The venue at 2 Temple Place in Embankment was a wedding to remember. The couple wanted a more summery feeling, considering that it was an autumnal wedding, which is why we used blues and whites (a huge craze for 2017 weddings).

Fishmongers Company was also one of our top picks this year. With spring in mind, we had been commissioned to dress an event for HRH Princess Anne, using cherry blossom as the main colour. Creating another banquet style design, this event was dressed with some of the best silver taken from the Company’s vaults.

Flowering with the Stars (2017)

We are often given the chance to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the world of entertainment. A fantastic opportunity to showcase our creativity to the wider public and to put our stamp on something other than weddings and corporate events etc, and for that, we thank you for choosing TBR Floral Design.

This year has been tremendous. Apart from an increasing clientele, we were chosen to create bespoke settings for video clips, celebrity birthdays AND MUCH MORE.

Some of top picks this year?

A Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack video clip starring Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik. A shoot that took place at the Great Eastern Hotel, for which oranges, deep reds, burgundy, mustard and purples were used. The colour palette stood out with a splash of pure white.

For the Sam Smith single cover, the idea was to create a sort of dying flower display that maintained attractiveness. Therefore, we bought flowers a week and a half before the shoot and hung them upside down to air them.

Here’s Toby in action (talk about true commitment to his craft!)

Ronan Keating’s 40th birthday had a very elegant twist without using too many flowers. Each table was dressed with gold vases of white roses and hydrangeas. Candles were disbursed on different levels and were complemented with tea lights as well as twisted gold willow to create a very crisp look that still kept its masculinity.

Gordon Ramsay and Gino’s banquet was also one of our favourite installations this year. Read all about that by clicking here

Daisy & Brian’s spellbinding wedding

If Hogwarts isn’t for hire then there’s always a chance to turn the Natural History Museum into a magical venue for a wedding.

And this couple’s love for Harry Potter, as well as their passion for mesmerising finds birthed the inspiration to hold their wedding at one of London’s most striking locations.

Nearly Headless Nick may not have been floating amongst the guests but they revelled in the chance to get together and celebrate Daisy and Brian’s themed wedding on December 30th in magical elegance.

With the Harry Potter theme in mind, we used yellow, green and splashes of white and blue to create an atmospheric environment that resembled a scene straight out of Hogwarts. Collaborating with the wonderful Golborne Events and with 90 minutes to set up, we installed our handmade, bespoke trees as high displays, with hanging glass globes.

For our low displays we adorned birdcages with candles and self-contained flowers alongside candelabras, willow arches, tremendous plinth displays, lanterns and abundant candle light on the tables.

In addition, we used numerous bark vases and troughs for the top table.

It was an honour working with Golborne Events on this occasion. For a chance to have your dream wedding planned perfectly for you, why not give Golborne Event Planners a go?
