Flowers for the Olympics

So Olympic fever is hotting up and there’s some ideas on the London 2012 website on how to “Garden for the Games’.

Whilst its focus is on growing the flowers in baskets and in your garden, we’ll be buying flowers already in bloom to get started on some fantastic patriotic arrangements using the Team GB colours of red, white and blue.

Use whatever flowers you like: an arrangement using one type of flower in the three colours can be very striking, or try a combination. Here’s a couple of suggestions to get you started:

  • Use the best of British grown seasonal blooms: deep blue hydrangeas, red velvet roses and white delphiniums
  • Or for something a bit more exotic: white and blue hydrangeas and tropical red gingers.

Have a go and see what you come up with.
